Two semesters
8.0 × 20 + 9.0 × 25 = 385 over 45 credits = 8.56.
CGPA
8.56
385 credit points ÷ 45 credits
How we got this
UGC's model regulations and most Indian university rules compute CGPA from all courses, weighted by credits. Using semester totals gives the same answer: each SGPA is already a credit-weighted average, so weighting it by the semester's credits rebuilds the overall average.
Once you have a CGPA, the CGPA to percentage calculator has each university's official formula. For a single semester from subject grades, use the GPA calculator with grade points.
CGPA =Σ(SGPA × semester credits) ÷ Σ semester creditsRead the full methodologyFound an error? Contact us
Each example is worked out by the same code as the calculator above.
8.0 × 20 + 9.0 × 25 = 385 over 45 credits = 8.56.
7.5 × 22 + 8.2 × 22 + 8.8 × 24 + 9.1 × 24 = 775 over 92 credits = 8.42.

Only if every semester has the same credits. Otherwise heavier semesters count for more.
Use your university's own rule; the CGPA to percentage page lists 21 of them with sources.
