About this hub
Most home jobs fail on quantities: one box of flooring short, three bags of mulch too many, a recipe that doubles badly. These tools turn a measurement into a shopping list, with a waste allowance you can change.
Measure in one unit system and stay in it. Each page shows the formula, so you can check the figure against the label on the bag, box or roll before you buy.

Questions
How much extra should I buy for waste?
About 10% for flooring, tiles and roofing on simple rooms, and 15% for diagonal layouts, many corners or patterned wallpaper. It is cheaper than a second trip and a different batch.
Can I use metric and imperial units?
Yes. Each tool lets you pick units, and shows the result in the unit sold in shops where that makes sense.
Are the kitchen conversions exact?
They use standard densities for each ingredient. Flour varies with how it is scooped, so for baking, weighing is more reliable than cups.
