Star signs, Chinese animals and birthstones
Western star signs are tied to the date the Sun appears to pass through each of twelve parts of the sky. The dates are fixed each year, give or take a day at the edges: Aries starts on 21 March, Taurus on 20 April, and so on round to Pisces.
